Welcome New Talents to Our Team
We are excited to announce that our team is growing! Please join us in welcoming Emil and Tom, who bring fresh perspectives and exceptional skills to our research group.

Dr. Emil Bronshtein earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in 2016, 2018, and 2024, respectively. His Ph.D. research focused on novel methods for measurements and data-driven analysis of nano-avalanches.
Emil has received several prestigious awards, including the Jacobs Award for an Excellent Publication and eight Excellent Teaching Assistant Awards. He was also honored with the Azrieli Fellowship and Daniel Fellowship for his Ph.D. studies, as well as the Rothschild Fellowship to support his postdoctoral research.
As a postdoctoral researcher at ETH, Emil will investigate nonlinear wave motion in metamaterials both experimentally and computationally.

Tom Vreugdenhil earned his BSc. in Mechanical Engineering and MSc. in High-Tech Engineering from Delft University of Technology in 2021 and 2024, respectively. During his Master's thesis at the Bertoldi Lab at Harvard University, Tom explored the dynamics of metamaterials, focusing on their integration with simple manufacturing processes to enable robotic path generation.
As a PhD. candidate at ETH, Tom is set to deepen his knowledge into metamaterial dynamics and wave guiding, with a particular emphasis on these concepts at the nanometer scale.
