Celebrating Excellence: Jan-Hendrik Bastek wins SWICCOMAS PhD Thesis Award 2025

We are thrilled to share the great news that our team member, Dr. Jan-Hendrik Bastek, has been honored as one of the recipients of the SWICCOMAS PhD Thesis Award 2025!

Dr. Bastek, supervised by Prof. Dennis Kochmann, has been recognized for his thesis titled "Data- and Physics-driven Deep Learning for Forward and Inverse Problems in Computational Mechanics." His work masterfully integrates deep learning with physics-based modeling, addressing forward and inverse problems in solid mechanics and advancing the design of mechanical metamaterials.

This recognition underscores the exceptional quality and impact of Dr. Bastek's research, and we couldn't be prouder of his achievement. We also extend our congratulations to the other awardees, Dr. Konstantinos Vlachas and Dr. Omid Ashtari.

Please join us in celebrating Dr. Bastek's success and his dedication to pushing the boundaries of computational science!
