Modeling and characterizing ferroelectric materials across scales
Through multiscale simulations and many-scales-spanning experiments we explore the complex electro-mechanically behavior of ferroelectric ceramics.
We use phase-field, level-set, and empirical continuum models for ferroelectrics to simulate the complex behavior of ferroelectric single- and polycrystals under mixed electro-mechanical loading with a special focus on the rate-dependent kinetics of ferroelectric switching.
